Learn about Kenzie's Closet!

For my senior project I have partnered with Kenzie's Closet to learn about Fashion Buying with a purpose.

SO WHAT IS KENZIE'S CLOSET?

Kenzie's closet provides prom dresses to girls with financial need in the Cincinnati area. They recieve a dress, shoes, accessories, and alterations free of charge.

Each girl recieves a personalized shopping experience with the help of volunteer personal shoppers. The goal is to make each girl feel like a princess.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN!

Brynne Colleti, the volunteer CEO, learned that one of her daughter's friends could not attend her High School Prom due to the expense. She decided to anonymously help through the High School. Her eyes were opened to the need of this kind od assistance in many high schools. Brynne soon started to collect prom dresses and other attire to help other girls. She realized a prom dress it really "more than a dress" and with that came the start of the beautiful organization.

Since the start they have dressed over 3,500 girls for prom.

SO....WHO IS KENZIE??

17 year old Kenzie Comisar lost her life in a car accident on the way to a friend's house a week before senior year. Unfortunately she never got to attend her senior prom.

"Kenzie had an infectious personality, a twinkle in her eye and a knack for making new friends wherever she was."

Brynne Colleti named her organization in the Memory of Kenzie. Every shopping season each girl who walks out with a dress we remember Kenzie and rememberin what life is all about.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

If you are a highschool student you can volunteer to help stock dresses and accessories, assist during shopping hours, and stock the racks. You can signup at www.UGive.org.

Shopping season is Febuary through April so sign up now to get a spot!
